If
your surveyor has indicated that your boat has osmosis blistering
then a treatment may be required. |
|
Blisters
in the protective gel-coat can rupture allowing water to ingress the
laminate |
 |
|
 |
The
first stage is to gel peel then grit or slurry blast the underwater
areas (this boat was also having a topsides re-spray) |
|
After
a routine of steam cleaning to remove any toxins from the laminate,
underwater areas are inspected. Moisture readings are monitored
as the hull is dried. Some areas may require
re-laminating with fibre glass cloth. |
 |
|
 |
Underwater
areas are then epxoy filled and faired before coating with 6 layers
of epoxy. Here at Tollesbury we offer the
West Epoxy and Awlgrip Hullguard ER osmosis prevention systems. |
|
This
vessel also had a full topside re-spray using the Awlgrip Awlcraft
paint system and change of colour from red to blue.
Underwater
areas are anti-fouled, boot-tops added and the boat is ready to go again! |
